What Is PDO Thread Lift?
PDO thread can help lift parts of your face and neck to reverse the effects of time. MINT involves the use of an absorbable thread built to mimic facial tissues. The threads are developed from a material commonly used in sutures. This material is extremely safe, having been used in hospitals for routine surgical procedures for over three decades.
There are two basic types of threads that can be used. Smooth threads are appropriate for those who only need collagen stimulation in a particular area, like fine lines along the cheeks or to reduce crepey skin in the inner arms. If you need a firm hold for lifting skin, barbed threads can be used to lift areas the cheeks, nasolabial folds, jowls, and neck.
MINT thread lifts are minimally invasive. No incisions or anesthesia are required. The threads are dotted with tiny barbs that are molded and placed strategically. Once in place, the barbs firmly grasp sagging skin. The threads are then carefully placed for the achievement of a more defined and youthful look. The procedure takes around one hour.
Some patients are good candidates for PDO smooth threads, which provide a different benefit - skin rejuvenation. The presence of the smooth threads stimulates your body into producing fresh collagen to provide more bulk to your skin, filling in wrinkles for a smoother facial appearance. Smooth threads treatment encourages the process of neovascularization, which is where your body produces brand new tiny blood vessels to supply nutrients to the fresher and more youthful skin created by the procedure. Results lasts up to 1 year.

When will I see results?
One of the best things about the MINT PDO thread lift is that your results are immediate and continue to develop naturally over time. You should notice an immediate lift on your skin after your treatment, with additional collagen building in over the following 6-8 weeks. During this time, your body will be replacing old, damaged skin tissue with fresher, more youthful skin.
Is it painful?
We use numbing cream and inject lidocaine prior to treatment. Our patients are very comfortable once the lidocaine is distributed and feel mostly pressure during the treatment.
What are the common side effects?
Some patients experience mild discomfort and tenderness post procedure for several days. Bruising, swelling, dimpling, and pulling sensations are the most common side effects. However, these resolve after 2 weeks.
Am I a good candidate?
PDO threads are great for patients that have mild to moderate sagging skin. Having good quality skin is important as too thin of skin can show the threads and too thick of skin will reduce the lifting capabilities. If there are volume deficits, then we recommend treating with fillers first and then doing PDO thread lifts after.
